Advani ends Yatra, calls UPA the worst corrupt Govt

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader LK Advani's 38-day long Jan Chetna Yatra against corruption will end in New Delhi on Sunday. Many BJP members were present at the Ramlila Maidan, showing their solidarity to the veteran politician.

Addressing his supporters at Ramlila Maidan, Advani called for an effective Lokpal Bill.
He also slammed the Congress party saying that the UPA 2 regime is the worst government the country has seen.

"If there is corruption today in the country, it is because of this government. It is the worst, most corrupt government. There is a lack of political will in preventing corruption in the country," he said.

Advani said that his fight against corruption will continue till the country is convinced that corruption is out of the Country.

Advani called for the government to step down saying, which he said will only happen if the citizens of India wake up.

He said, "The fog that has engulfed the political scene of the country, it will only go away through citizens awakening, till this government steps down."

BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley were present at the grand finale.
Arun Jaitley took the occasion to speak against the UPA regime saying that the government is paralysed and that is the reason why the country is facing economic problems.

"There was no problem with the telecom policy of NDA for the last 11 years. Economic situation of the country is not fine. Every economic sector is facing problem, the government is paralysed. Nobody is able to answer in the present government."

Jaitley said that the BJP will protest against the policies of the government.

"We will protest against the policies of the government in Parliament and BJP workers will be protesting on the roads," he said.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj echoed Jaitley's opinion saying that the protests outside Parliament will be led by BJP President Nitin Gadkari. She also said that Advani will lead the protest inside Parliament.

Sushma said, "We will protest inside and outside Parliament. Outside Parliament it will be led by Nitin Gadkari. Inside Parliament the protest will be led under the guidance of LK Advani."

Sushma also said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cannot see the pain in the eyes of the common man as he is only looking at economic growth.

"Manmohan Singh can only see the economic growth but can't see the pain in the eyes of a common man. The present economic situation is because of faulty policies of the UPA government," she said.

She slammed the Prime Minister saying that the country elected him because of his clean image, but now he is heading a government which is corrupt.

Not just BJP leader and supporters, but representatives of Shiv Sena and AIADMK were also in attendance at the Ramlila Maidan rally.
