Cash-for-votes truth yet to come out - Kulkarni

New Delhi: Sudheendra Kulkarni, the key accused in the cash-for-votes case and former close aide of senior BJP leader LK Advani on Friday said BJP's stand on the case has been vindicated.

"Stand of all the people who stood by exposing this shameful act has been vindicated," Kulkarni told CNN-IBN.

Opposition MPs were allegedly bribed ahead of 2008 trust vote and three BJP MPs brandished the bribe money in Lok Sabha to expose the UPA government.

Kulkarni added, "Delhi Police is not under Delhi government, it is under Home Ministry. The government stalled investigation for one and a half years. It was only after SC said that wheels of justice moved."

The former-Advani aide also stated, "You cannot punish the whistleblowers inside jail and keep culprits scot free."

Kulkarni also said the truth has come out and more truth is yet to come out.

A Parliamentary probe panel was set up and the panel submitted its report to Lok Sabha in December 2008. The report found no proof against former Samajvadi party leader Amar Singh and Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel.

Earlier Amar Singh, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Mahavir Singh Bhagora, Suhail Hindustani and Sanjeev Saxena were arrested in the case.
