Terror will have no place in Pak if I'm PM - Imran Khan

Islamabad: Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan said that terror groups will have no place in Pakistan if his party comes to power. Speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN, he said that it is time to stop treating terror groups created during the Afghan jehad days as an asset.

"As a policy if Tehreek-e-Insaf government comes to power we will insist on there will be no militant groups operating from within Pakistan, because the world has changed. So the groups that were created during the Afghan jihad, this is now an outdated concept of having them as assets," he said.

Imran said that by no militant groups he meant all of them, not just the ones which are attacking India but even those groups who target Pakistan.

He, however, stopped short of naming any of the groups for fear of reprisal by militants.

Imrans said, "I am living in Pakistan. Pakistan at the moment is the most polarised country in the world. A governor gets shot and his assassin becomes a hero. There is no point in becoming a hero right now in this country where there is no rule of law. Life is very cheap here. So let me make a policy statement don't go into details. As a policy statement it should answer your question, no militant groups operating from within Pakistan."

He had earlier said that he will rein in the Pakistani Army and the ISI if he becomes Prime Minister.
