Woman claims to be Falak's mother, cops to verify

New Delhi: In a big possible breakthrough in the search for the parents of Baby Falak, the 2-year-old who was abandoned in a battered state in Delhi, a woman named Munni has admitted that she is the mother of the child.

According to police sources, the woman confessed that she was the mother of Baby Falak and would now be undergoing a DNA test.

However, the police will verify the confessions of Munni on an independent basis.

Police tracked the woman based on the statement of her employer Lakshmi, who claims that Munni left Falak with her in September and disappeared.

Since then Falak has changed hands thrice, finally being left with the 14-year-old girl who brought her to AIIMS in January.

Meanwhile, Falak is still critical and was put back on the ventilator on Sunday.
