Verma couldn't attend coaching classes but overcame all odds to achieve his dreams. The son of a postal officer has never known life without cerebral palsy but this year he cracked the Civil Services exam with the 726 rank and he is now busy celebrating.
"It's like a dream come true for me. I got success in the Civil Services examination despite hurdles and I think that all happened due to my family support and my strong will," Verma says.
Wheelchair-bound Ashish never attended any coaching classes because of his condition, but relied on 12-14 hours of work a day at home.
Where there is a will, there's a way, Ashish Verma has proved that it's not a mere saying but it can well be practised in real life as well. Braving his handicap and cerebral palsy disease, he overcame all odds to crack the Civil Services and the achievement he says is not his alone but of entire Verma family.
Now on the cusp of a flourishing professional life, Ashish is troubled by the fact that he will soon have to leave behind his loving joint family which has stood by him at every turn.
His brother Omkar Verma says, "Ashish has faced a tough time in life due to the disease.” Ashish's mother Nilam Sinha says, "I am worried about his training now."
Ashish now wants to retake the Civil Services exam to improve his ranking and once settled in a job, he wants to repay his family for all they've done for him, all these years.
