Modi snubs BJP, likely to skip national executive meet

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is likely to skip the national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to be held in Mumbai.

Reportedly, the Gujarat Chief Minister is upset at being overlooked for the post of BJP president.

This comes after reports suggested that current president Nitin Gadkari is set to get an extension till 2014 at the national executive meeting.

Nitin Gadkari was given a green signal from the RSS, following which the party is likely to make changes in its constitution to allow him a second tenure as the party president.

However, there is a section within the BJP which is opposing the move considering the Anshuman Mishra fiasco, also the way the elections in Uttar Pradesh were held and Babu Singh Khuswaha episode.
