No jeans, t-shirts; new dress code for Haryana Women and Child Department

Chandigarh: The Haryana Women and Child Department has issued a dress code for its women employees, according to which, they would not be allowed to wear jeans and t-shirts to work. According to the new dress code, the women employees can only wear salwar kameez and sarees to work.

Jeans and t-shirts have been branded as 'indecent clothing' by the Haryana Women and Child Department and decent clothes include only 'saree or salwar kameez with dupatta' for women.

Men also have to wear trouser-shirt combination. In a circular, the department warned its staff that those who failed to comply with the order will face dire consequences.

Ironically, the Haryana Women and Child Department minister, the Financial Commissioner, the Principal Secretary and the Department's Director are all women.
