17 jawans feared dead as avalanches hit J&K

Srinagar: Seventeen jawans were feared dead as avalanches hit sveral districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Out of the seventeen, 14 jawans were feared dead in Gurez. A few bodies were recovered so far, but authorities didn't give a clear number.

Three other armymen were confirmed dead in Sonmarg.

Authorities feared the death toll could climb in both the incidents.
