Chennai: Even as the row over the Kudankulam nuclear power plant intensifies, Tamil Nadu is facing a major power deficit. Major power cuts have been announced across the state.
While Chennai is slated to experience two-hour power cut starting Monday, people outside the capital city will have to go without power for at least four hours.
A 40 per cent cut in the power supply to the industrial and commercial consumers has also been announced across the state.
Tamil Nadu is facing a deficit of 8500 MW.
