New Delhi: Kingfisher Airlines Chairman Vijay Mallya has blamed the media for the cash-strapped airline's crisis. In a letter to his employees Mallya said that paid media is responsible for the downfall of Kingfisher Airlines.
"I'm trying my best to revive the airlines, employees must have patience," Mallya said.
The letter came just hours before the Directorate General of Civil Aviation took a call on the airline's new flight schedule.
Kingfisher had submitted a copy of the revised schedule to the aviation regulator last week, after its CEO was pulled up over sudden flight cancellations. It is now operating only 28 out of 64 flights.
Kingfisher Airlines is struggling with fewer flights and pilots, unpaid salaries and outstanding dues to oil companies. It needs at least $400 million to keep flying. The airline had last week formally announced a sharp drop in its operations.
DGCA will take a call on Kingfisher Airlines new flight schedule on Monday.
