Mumbai: For the first time in recent years, both runways of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai will be shut for construction work for 5 hours on Saturday. Operations will be closed between 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Flights or passengers are not likely to be affected, as airlines had been informed of this three months in advance.
However, passengers who have to rush to other cities urgently during these hours will have to use Pune airport.
Similar closure will take place on two other Saturdays in March.
Last fortnight, the Mumbai airport was ranked the third best airport globally, and emerged as the second best in India.
