Mathura: After his controversial comments about imposition of President's rule in Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal on Saturday created a flutter when he said that Rahul Gandhi could become Prime Minister 'even at midnight if he so desires'.
"If Rahul wants he can be the Prime Minister at 12 tonight and no one can stop him. But he doesn't want to be the Prime Minsiter or the Chief Minsiter," Jaiswal said.
Jaiswal, who has expressed readiness to become the Chief Minister if the high command so wanted, on Saturday also assured people of the area that he will give them the best ministry Mathura ever had, if they ensured the win of the party candidate.
He further said that the Congress candidates who wins fourth term would be made a minister.
Jaiswal had triggered a controversy a couple of days back by his remarks that Rahul would be the remote control, whoever becomes Chief Minister of Congress in UP.
