Woman dies during mock fire drill in Bangalore

Bangalore: A 25-year-old woman on Friday died during a mock fire drill in Bangalore after she fell while trying to come down using a rope from the third floor of her office building in Yeshwantpur.

The woman, identified as Nalina, died on the spot. She was an employee of the Bombay Rayon Rrivate Limited.

The drill incidentally was organised by the fire department at the company's office in Yeshwantpur.

"Fire dept approaches the companies or Companies approach the fire dept for conducting such fire drill after taking necessary consent," said Sunil Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Law & Order.

"Deputy Commissioner of the police is in touch with the fire officials of the area," said Kumar.
