New Delhi: In a major setback for households and vehicle owners, the hike in CNG prices by Adani Gas Ltd is set to take effect on Sunday. Those fuelling up will now have to shell out Rs 4.70 more per kg of CNG.
As a result, auto and taxi unions have threatened to go on strike if their fare meters are not hiked simultaneously.
The hike by the city gas distribution company will push the CNG price to Rs 50.20 per kg as against the earlier rate of Rs 45.50 per kg.
Citing significant increase in international LNG prices, the company stated on Saturday that revision in prices was necessary.
The company has a network of 50 CNG stations in Ahmedabad, and 7 re-fuelling stations in Vadodara. It supplies over 3.50 lakh kgs of CNG to over one lakh vehicles everyday.
