New Delhi: Road rage claimed the lives of two persons in two separate incidents in Delhi and Lucknow. While in Delhi, an autorickshaw driver was allegedly beaten to death, in Lucknow, a man was run over by a jeep.
An autorickshaw driver was allegedly beaten to death early on Friday morning in Delhi. The victim, Rajesh Kumar, was returning home in his auto which accidentally bumped into an Innova car.
He was allegedly beaten to death by four people traveling in the car.
The police have found some liquor bottles from the car.
The family of the autorickshaw driver alleged that he was hit with a brick on his head due to which he died. They also alleged that the police were not supporting them.
"They hit him with a brick and he died due to this. I am not going to leave them. The police is not doing anything to help us," the auto driver's wife Sangeeta Devi said.
Meanwhile, in Lucknow, a 28-year-old man Arjun Upadhyay was run over by a jeep in Gomtinagar. The police said he got into a fight with the jeep's driver Rajan Tiwari, after he banged into his car.
When Arjun asked for payment for the damages, Rajan drove his jeep over him. Rajan is absconding after the incident. The police suspect both were under the influence of alcohol.
