Hope Air India doesn't enter the ICU | Ajit Singh

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on Friday said that he hoped that the Air India pilots who have called in sick get well soon. "The pilots have reported sick. So, I hope they get well soon," Ajit Singh said.

In a warning of the sorts, he also said that he hoped that Air India crisis doesn't deepen. "I hope things do not go from bad to worse and I hope that Air India doesn't enter the ICU," he said.

Ajit Singh also said that Air India needed to stand on its own feet, "We have to see how to make Air India stand on its feet and for that the employees have to work hard. If they only see their personal interest, Air India will sink and all of them will sink with it."

Laying stress on the issue of safety, Ajit Singh said, "Safety cannot be compromised with. We do not have any tolerance in this case."

When asked about the Kingfisher Airlines pilots strike, Ajit Singh said, "Kingfisher is a private airline and has to help itself. They should consider the fact that the strike is affecting the passengers."

Ajit Singh will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the crisis in the aviation industry at 11:15 am on Friday.

This is yet another dance of democracy. AI will not face all this crisis and government can flush exchequers money to something more productive by selling AI's stake which has always been in loss. This move can even help our FM fill the budget deficit. Why should exchequers money be wasted for the pleasure of flying some politicians and their relatives in AI.
