Wayne Rooney alert - Manchester United set for sale talks

Manchester United are ready to meet their star striker Wayne Rooney as the forward continues to show interest in leaving Old Trafford - with Chelsea and Arsenal keeping a close eye on the proceedings, the Daily Mail has reported.

Rooney had asked for transfer last season as well, which led him to the bench for the final few games in the season; however, that hasn't deterred Rooney from looking out.

The newspaper suggests that the new United manager David Moyes is making notes to discuss the price tag for Rooney. While Chelsea and Arsenal remain front-runners to take him home, the 27-year-old Rooney hasn't ruled out a switch abroad.
