As Rekha enters Rajya Sabha, Jaya gets her seat shifted

Actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan has got her seat in the Rajya Sabha shifted to seat no. 143. Reports say this came after her co-star from the 1981 film 'Silsila', Rekha, was allotted seat number 99, which was right behind her previous seat 91.

She requested for a seat change apparently to avoid proximity to the actress, reports said.

Meanwhile, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been allotted seat number 103.

This comes even as Amitabh Bachchan was recently quoted saying that he was open to working with Rekha.

Rekha allegedly had an affair with Amitabh Bachchan, which made headlines in the 1970s. Jaya Bachchan has since then maintained a public distance from the actress and has rarely appeared at functions together. The three were last seen together in the Yash Raj movie 'Silsila' in 1981.
